Concert Countdown

I admit to being pretty lame with my musical tastes. If it’s not on the radio or iTunes top singles list, I’ve probably never heard it. The only time I discover off-the-beaten-path tunes is when I hear something I like and Shazam a movie or TV show. I also really haven’t been to that many shows, making many of them my favorites just because. My very first was *NSYNC’s PopOdyssey tour at Giants Stadium when I was in 7th grade. It would’ve made my list, except I barely remember it. We had nosebleeds and apparently didn’t take a single photo. I even lost my T-shirt. I just know that I screamed until my vocal cords gave out. I made up for those hazy memories a couple months ago when I went to see Justin Timberlake.
Which brings us to my number 1…*

1. Justin Timberlake | The 20/20 Experience World Tour
Madison Square Garden, NYC | March 21, 2014

I. Lost. My. Mind. End of story. Most I’ve ever spent on a show ($175) and I would only ever spend that much on this man. Worth every penny. He was getting over being sick and still flawlessly powered through a 32-song setlist. He played the majority of 20/20 but also revisited hits from his prior two albums. “Cry Me A River” threw the stadium into complete pandemonium. He launched into Sinatra’s “New York, New York” and that was it, I was done. And that was before the first set even ended. It was the best night ever spent with three of my best girls and our beloved JT. Mmph. Continue reading

I just lost my freaking mind.

You all remember when the news was announced that the Idol alum would be joining season 5 of Glee? We got our first glimpse of his character in the promo for the upcoming episode, entitled “A Katy or a Gaga.” Based on Lambert’s own Instagram, he has been dubbed Starchild (how appropriate). Glee S5: Everything You Need To Know

It’s been over a month already since our favorite singing underdogs lost their leading man. In the aftermath of the tragic news, it was hard to picture what Lima would even look like without Finn Hudson. There was talk that Glee would simply cancel itself—but the show must go on and it looks ready to knock our knee socks (er, knee-high boots) off in season 5 with new guest stars, new relationships and a Beatles-inspired set list … plus a “gut-wrenching tribute episode to Finn/Cory. SPOILER ALERT!

Gleeks, prepare to Glam it up…

246579_762259249698_281991789_nMy friend took this photo at 95.5PLJ’s 2012 summer kick-off concert at Jenk’s nightclub in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We had an absolute blast. Adam was just starting to promote Trespassing; his set was from 6:30-7:30 a.m. and he still managed to infuse his performance with an infectious energy.
t was the best way to start the day.

Ryan Murphy announced yesterday via Twitter that Adam Lambert will be joining the cast of Glee for season 5! Murphy’s always had a tendency to inject star power into his projects—past guests on Glee have included Neil Patrick Harris, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Kate Hudson, and Sarah Jessica Parker. But after last season’s ratings drop, I wonder if it’s primarily being done to lure back those who may have given up on the Glee that was. Continue reading
