It’s that time of year again, when publicity photos and promos start rolling out for the new seasons of all our favorite shows. I love it and hate it at the same time—to me, it always feels like seeing Christmas decorations hit stores in October. Why are you teasing me?! I still have to wait well over a month before I get to enjoy everything you’re gleefully shoving in my face.
The 1:32 compilation of smiling, posing and laughing includes a zooming tour of the loft, further proving how I’m always amazed by TV sets. They’re huuuge! Hopefully someday I’ll find myself on one so I can wander around in awe like a kid in Disney World.
The poster itself is nothing less than what we’ve grown to expect from New Girl: bright colors, adorable actors (Jake/Nick’s face kills me), and the overwhelming sense that you desperately want to be friends with these people.
This year’s tagline: “Friends don’t let friends do friends.” That little nugget of advice comes too little too late IMO seeing as how 4 of the 5 have already hooked up, buuuut … in fact, I feel bad for Winston who reminds me very much of Joey Tribbiani and Eric Matthews in this situation. Sucks to be the odd man out in a group of friends-turned-couples. (Technically Joey had Phoebe, but they didn’t end up together and he was the only one still solo at the end of Friends. Poor thing.)
New Girl and I got off to a rocky start—I was hot and cold during its first season. Some episodes I would crack up nonstop, others I barely chuckled. But I stuck it out (thank God) and season 2 was excellent. I can’t wait to see what hilarity ensues a third time around.
What are you most looking forward to: The continuation of the awkwardness that is Nick and Jess’ burgeoning relationship? The fallout of Cece calling off her wedding on account of Schmidt (and Cotton-Eyed Joe)? More of Winston’s delightful quirks?
Season 3 of New Girl premieres Tuesday, September 17 at 9 on FOX.
